Sir Charles Murray Marling

     Sir Charles Murray Marling was born on 3 December 1862.1 He was the son of Sir William Henry Marling, 2nd Bt. and Mary Emily Abraham.2 He married Lucia Slade, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir John Ramsay Slade and Janet Little Wood, on 2 September 1909.2 He died on 16 February 1933 at age 70.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was with the Diplomatic Service.2 He held the office of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Persia between 1915 and 1921.1 He was President of the International Plebiscite Commission on Slesvig in 1920.1 He held the office of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to The Hague between 1921 and 1926.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1

     Claude Rosemary Dove is the daughter of Archibald W. D. Dove.1 She married, firstly, Peter George Calvert.1 She married, secondly, Commander Hon. Gustaf Guthrie Rennell Rodd, son of James Rennell Rodd, 1st Baron Rennell and Lilias Georgina Guthrie, on 15 May 1948.1
     Her married name became Calvert.1 Her married name became Rodd.

     John Adrian Tremayne Rodd, 3rd Baron Rennell was born on 28 June 1935.1 He was the son of Commander Hon. Gustaf Guthrie Rennell Rodd and Yvonne Mary Marling.1 He married Phyllis Caroline Neill, daughter of Thomas David Neill, on 3 May 1977.1 He died on 9 December 2006 at age 71.2
