     Vice-Admiral Francis Gerald St. John was born on 22 December 1869.1 He was the son of Admiral Henry Craven St. John and Catherine Dora Rodney.1 He married, firstly, Winifred Jessie Trollope, daughter of Colonel George Howard Trollope, on 28 May 1898.1 He married, secondly, Emily Frances Louise Turner, daughter of Allan F. Turner, on 29 December 1902.1 He died on 15 February 1947 at age 77.1
     He fought in the Boxer Rebellion in 1900.1 He fought in the Boer War.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1914.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1917.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George V between 1920 and 1921.1
