     Sir John Cordell, 2nd Bt. was born on 10 November 1646.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Cordell, 1st Bt. and Margaret Wright.1 He married Elizabeth Waldegrave, daughter of Thomas Waldegrave, before 1674.1 He died in 1690.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Cordell [E., 1660] in 1680. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sudbury in 1685.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk in 1689.1
