     Major Horace William Francis Twiss was born circa 20 November 1879 at Nice, France.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Arthur William Twiss and Mary Rosalie States.1 He married Agnes Maud McMinn on 15 November 1906 at Mandalay, Burma.1 He died on 1 December 1922 at Lucknow, Bengal, India.1
     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1
