     He gained the rank of Captain in the Seaforth Highlanders.1

     Major William Vandeleur Beatty was baptised on 14 July 1873 at Malpas, Cheshire, England.2 He was the son of Captain David Longfield Beatty and Katherine Edith Sadleir.1 He married, firstly, Amy Florence Wood on 6 November 1904 at Leamington, Warwickshire, England.2 He married, secondly, Hon. Victoria Alexandrina Sibell FitzRoy, daughter of Charles Henry FitzRoy, 4th Baron Southampton and Lady Hilda Mary Dundas, on 21 January 1925.3 He and Hon. Victoria Alexandrina Sibell FitzRoy were divorced in 1941.1 He died on 23 January 1953 at age 79.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the 19th Queen's Own Hussars.1 He was given the name of Vandeleur Schruder Beattie at birth.2 He lived at Phantom House, Newmarket, Cambridgeshire, England.3

     Brigadier Walter Morley Sale was the son of Charles Vincent Sale.1 He married Hon. Ismay Hilda Margaret FitzRoy, daughter of Charles Henry FitzRoy, 4th Baron Southampton and Lady Hilda Mary Dundas, on 8 February 1928.1 He died on 29 August 1976.1
     He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Royal Horse Guards.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.)1 He held the office of Crown Equerry between 1955 and 1961.1 He held the office of Extra Equerry to HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1961.1

     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He retired from the military in 1954, with the rank of Captain, late of the Royal Horse Guards.1
