     Allen Algernon Bathurst, Lord Apsley was born on 3 August 1895.2 He was the son of Seymour Henry Bathurst, 7th Earl Bathurst of Bathurst and Hon. Lilias Margaret Frances Borthwick.1 He married Viola Emily Mildred Meeking, daughter of Captain Bertram Charles Christopher Spencer Meeking and Viola Charlotte Heboher Fletcher, on 27 February 1924 at St. Paul's Church, Knightsbridge, London, EnglandG.3 He died on 17 December 1942 at age 47 at MaltaG, killed on active service.3

     Viola Emily Mildred Meeking was born on 29 April 1895 at Marylebone, London, England.2 She was the daughter of Captain Bertram Charles Christopher Spencer Meeking and Viola Charlotte Heboher Fletcher.1 She married Allen Algernon Bathurst, Lord Apsley, son of Seymour Henry Bathurst, 7th Earl Bathurst of Bathurst and Hon. Lilias Margaret Frances Borthwick, on 27 February 1924 at St. Paul's Church, Knightsbridge, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 20 January 1966 at age 70 at Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England.1,2
     Her married name became Bathurst. She was Chief Commander of the Air Training Service. In 1930 she had a huntring accident which left her permanently disabled, and in a wheel chair.2 She held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bristol Central between 1943 and 1945.3 She was a director of Western Airways Ltd.3 She was Governor of the Royal Automobile Club in 1945.3 She was Master of the Fox Hounds VWH (Bathurst) between 1946 and 1955.3 She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1952.3
