     Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford was born on 27 October 1896.2 He was the son of William Grey, 9th Earl of Stamford and Elizabeth Louisa Penelope Theobald.1 He died on 18 August 1976 at age 79.3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He succeeded as the 11th Baron Grey, of Groby, co. Leicester [E., 1603] on 24 May 1910.1 He succeeded as the 10th Earl of Stamford, co. Lincoln [E., 1628] on 24 May 1910.1 He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Territorial Forces.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cheshire in 1918.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Cheshire in 1937.2 He held the office of Mayor of Altrincham between 1937 and 1938.2 He fought in the Second World War.2
