     Major Alexander William Day Maclean of Crossapol was born in 1858.1 He was the son of Colonel Alexander Maclean of Crossapol and Olivia Louisa Elizabeth Day.1 He married Rose Aden Abinger Fenwick, daughter of Admiral William Fenwick, in 1889.1 He died in 1901 at Mazarabad, India.1
     He was educated at Clifton, Bristol, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Zulu Wars in 1879.1 He was commissioned in 1879 with the rank of officer, in the service of the 94th Foot.1
