     Lt.-Col. George Blicke Champion de Crespigny was born on 31 October 1815 at Antwerp, Belgium.^1,2 He was the son of Charles James Fox Champion de Crespigny and Eliza Julia Trent.^2,3 He married Elizabeth Jane Buchanan, daughter of Alexander Buchanan and Mary Ann Buchanan, on 11 June 1851.¹ He died on 30 June 1893 at age 77.¹
     He was Paymaster for the School of Musketry.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Folkestone and Hythe.¹
