Brigadier Sir Eric Alexander Ogilvy Hutchison, 2nd Bt. was born on 28 February 1897.2 He was the son of Sir Thomas Hutchison, 1st Bt. and Jane Moir Ogilvy Spence.2 He married, firstly, Bethia Maud Fayrer, daughter of Lt.-Col. Frederick Durand Stirling Fayrer and Amy Gertrude Tetley, on 4 October 1924.3 He and Bethia Maud Fayrer were divorced in 1943.3 He married, secondly, Olive Kerss, daughter of Frederick Kerss, on 2 November 1944.2 He died on 7 February 1972 at age 74.4
He was educated at Edinburgh Academy, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919, where he was mentioned in dispatches.2 He graduated from Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Hutchison, of Hardiston, co.
