     Lt.-Col. Philip Clive Mitford was born on 19 April 1918.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Philip Mitford and Alice Constance Mary Fowler.1 He died on 24 December 2003 at age 85, unmarried.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Seafordth Highlanders.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)1
