Richard Hampden1

     Richard Hampden was born in 1631.1 He was the son of John Hampden and Elizabeth Simeon.1 He married Letitia Paget, daughter of Sir William Paget, 5th Lord Paget (of Beaudesert) and Lady Frances Rich.1 He died in December 1695.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Buckinghamshire in 1656.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wendover from 1660 to 1661.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wendover in 1679.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Buckinghamshire in 1681.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wendover in 1689.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 14 February 1689.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Buckinghamshire in 1690.1 He held the office of Chancellor of the Exchequer on 18 March 1690.1
