     Mary Ramsay Oswald was baptised on 15 March 1780 at Renfrew, Renfrewshire, Scotland.2 She was the daughter of George Oswald, 2nd of Scotstoun and Margaret Smyth.3 She married James Dennistoun, 16th of Colgrain, son of Colonel James Dennistoun, 15th of Colgrain and Margaret Donald, on 18 June 1801.1
     From 18 June 1801, her married name became Dennistoun.1

     From 10 February 1859, her married name became Murray.1
