He married, firstly, Cynthia Mary Burns, daughter of Walter Spencer Morgan Burns and Ruth Evelyn Cavendish-Bentinck, on 12 June 1928.1 He married, secondly, Joan Shirley Blackman, daughter of Rear-Admiral Charles Maurice Blackman, in 1979.1 He died on 26 January 1993 at age 90 at St. Germans, Cornwall, England.1,2
