Robert Monsey Rolfe, 1st and last Baron Cranworth1

     Robert Monsey Rolfe, 1st and last Baron Cranworth was born on 18 December 1790.1 He was the son of Reverend Edmund Nelson Rolfe and Jemima Alexander.3 He married Laura Carr, daughter of Thomas William Carr, on 9 October 1845.1 He died on 26 July 1868 at age 77, without issue.1
     He was educated at Bury Grammar School, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England.1 He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1812 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1815 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1816 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was appointed Knight in 1825.1 He held the office of Recorder of Bury in 1832.1 He was appointed King's Counsel (K.C.) in 1832.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Penryn between 1832 and 1839.1 He held the office of Solicitor-General in 1834.1 He held the office of Solicitor-General between 1835 and 1839.1 He held the office of a Baron of the Exchequer between 1839 and 1850.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1850.1 He was Commissioner of the Great Seal between June 1850 and July 1850.1 He was created 1st Baron Cranworth, of Cranworth, co. Norfolk [U.K.] on 20 December 1850.1 He held the office of Lord Justice of Appeal in 1851.1 He held the office of Lord Chancellor between 1852 and 1858.1 He held the office of Lord Chancellor between 1865 and 1866.1

     Anne Fotheringham was born circa 1733.1 She was the daughter of Dr. Charles Fotheringham and Katherine Skene.1 She married Alexander Dirom on 18 July 1754.1 She died on 4 November 1819.1
     From 18 July 1754, her married name became Dirom.1

     Lt.-Col. Adam Trevor Smail was the son of John Isdale Smail.1 He married Mary Millicent Heathcoat-Amory, daughter of Lt.-Col. Harry William Ludovic Heathcoat-Amory and Evelyn Mary Stanley, on 3 October 1930.1 He and Mary Millicent Heathcoat-Amory were divorced in 1943.1 He died on 15 July 1976.1
     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 11th Hussars.1
