Jean Malcolm was the daughter of Sir Michael Malcolm of Balbedie and Grange, 6th Bt. and Isabella Davie.2 She married Thomas Malcolm-Lyde in 1850.1 She died on 29 September 1907.1

James Malcolm was the son of Sir John Malcolm of Balbedie and Grange, 5th Bt. and Jean Hutton.2 He married Helen Duncan, daughter of James Duncan of Abernethy, on 22 May 1818.1 He died on 30 June 1826.1

Sir James Malcolm of Balbedie and Grange, 8th Bt. was born on 11 April 1823.1 He was the son of James Malcolm and Helen Duncan.2 He died on 8 June 1901 at age 78, unmarried.1
He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Malcolm, of Balbedie and Innertiel in the County of Fife [N.S., 1665] on 24 December 1865.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Fife.1
