     Friederike Marie Prinzessin von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg was born on 28 August 1824. She was the daughter of Christian Karl Friedrich August Herzog von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg and Countess Luise Sophie von Danneskjold-Samsöe. She died on 30 May 1872 at age 47 at Pau, FranceG, unmarried.
     She gained the title of Prinzessin von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg. She was given the name of Friederike Marie Luise Auguste Karoline Henriette von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg at birth.

     Richard Pepper Arden, 1st Baron Alvanley was born on 20 May 1744 at Bredbury, Chester, EnglandG.1 He was the son of John Arden and Mary Pepper.2,1 He was baptised on 20 June 1744 at Stockport, Cheshire, EnglandG.1 He married Anne Dorothea Wilbraham-Bootle, daughter of Richard Wilbraham-Bootle and Mary Bootle, on 9 September 1784.3 He died on 19 March 1804 at age 59.1 He was buried on 26 March 1804 at Rolls Chapel, London, EnglandG.3 His will was proven (by probate) in April 1804.3
     He was educated between 1752 and 1763 at Manchester Grammar School, Manchester, Lancashire, EnglandG.1 He matriculated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in October 1763.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1766 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1769 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1769 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He was appointed King's Counsel (K.C.) in 1780.1 He held the office of Solicitor-General between 1782 and 1784.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newtown, Isle of Wight between 1783 and 1784.1 He held the office of Attorney-General and Chief Justice of Chester between 1784 and 1788.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Aldborough between 1784 and 1790.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1788.1 He held the office of Master of the Rolls on 4 June 1788.1 He was appointed Knight on 18 June 1788.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hastings between 1790 and 1794.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bath between 1794 and 1801.1 He held the office of Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas in May 1801.1 He was created 1st Baron Alvanley, of Alvanley, co. Chester [U.K.] on 22 May 1801.1
     "He was not a man of great oratorical powers, but possessed the qualities of intelligence, readiness and wit... It would be vain to claim any great distinction for Lord Alvanley. He was a learned lawyer and a successful politician... the few productions that remain from his pen evince refinement, taste and facility of expression."3 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.4

     Anne Dorothea Wilbraham-Bootle was the daughter of Richard Wilbraham-Bootle and Mary Bootle.1 She married Richard Pepper Arden, 1st Baron Alvanley, son of John Arden and Mary Pepper, on 9 September 1784.1 She died on 17 January 1825 at British Hotel, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1
     From 9 September 1784, her married name became Arden.1 After her marriage, Anne Dorothea Wilbraham-Bootle was styled as Baroness Alvanley on 22 May 1801. She lived at Stone Lodge, Browning Hill, Baughurst, Hampshire, EnglandG.2
