     Sir John Swinton, 25th of that Ilk was the son of Sir John Swinton, 23rd of that Ilk and Lady Margaret Stewart.¹ He married, firstly, Sarah Welch, daughter of William Welch.² He married, secondly, Anne Sinclair, daughter of Sir Robert Sinclair of Longformacus, 1st Bt. and Margaret Alexander, in 1698.² He died in 1723.¹
     He was a merchant at The Netherlands.² In 1661 he returned to Britain at the Restoration.² In 1690 the decree of forfeiture rescinded and the family estate was restored to him.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Berwickshire between 1690 and 1707.² He voted for the Union of Scottish and English Parliaments.²

     Lady Margaret Stewart was the daughter of William Stewart, 2nd Lord Blantyre and Helen Scott.¹ She married Sir John Swinton, 23rd of that Ilk, son of Sir Alexander Swinton, 22nd of that Ilk and Margaret Home, in 1645.¹ She died in 1662 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, in prison.¹
     From 1645, her married name became Swinton.¹

     Sir John Swinton, 23rd of that Ilk was the son of Sir Alexander Swinton, 22nd of that Ilk and Margaret Home.¹ He married, firstly, Lady Margaret Stewart, daughter of William Stewart, 2nd Lord Blantyre and Helen Scott, in 1645.¹ He married, secondly, Frances Hancock in 1671.² He died in 1678.¹
     He was Scottish representative to the English Parliament.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) in 1649.² He fought in the Battle of Worcester in 1651, where he was taken prisoner.² In 1651 he was forfeit as to his estates and excommunicated.² He held the office of member of the Council of State for Scotland in 1655.² He was a leading Scots supporter of Cromwell.² In 1657 he joined the Quakers.² In 1661 he was tried for high treason and suffered forfeiture and imprisonment, adn was released in 1667.²

     James Smithe married Jean Hepburn, daughter of Francis Hepburn of Beinstoun and Katharine Swinton, before 1680.¹ He died before 1680.¹

     He was ancestor of the O'Domhnaill, Kings of Tir Conaill till the 17th century and Earls of Tyrconnel , the Dukes of Tetuan in Spain, the Counts O'Donell von Tirconnell in Austria.¹

     Feidhlimidh (?) is the son of Fergus 'Cendfota' (?)² He married Eithne of Leinster.¹

     Eithne of Leinster married Feidhlimidh (?), son of Fergus 'Cendfota' (?).¹

     St. Columba (?) was born on 7 December 521.¹ He was the son of Feidhlimidh (?) and Eithne of Leinster.² He died on 9 June 597 at age 75.¹
     In 553 he founded various Irish monastic churches, Durrow Monastery.¹ He was apostle of the northern Picts.¹ In 563 he founded the Abbey of Iona.¹ In 574 he converted Bruide, King of the Picts, and inaugurated his own cousin Aidan as King of the Scots of Dalriada.¹

     Sabine Elizabeth Budd was born in 1836.¹ She married John Barwell on 7 January 1862 at Parish Church, Great Ryburgh, Norfolk, England.¹ She died in 1908.¹
     From 7 January 1862, her married name became Barwell.¹
