Ranulph le Meschin, 1st Earl of Chester1

     Ranulph le Meschin, 1st Earl of Chester was born circa 1070 at Briquessart, Livry, FranceG.2 He was the son of Ranulf II de Bayeux, Vicomte de Bessin and Margaret d'Avranches.3,4 He married Lucy (?), daughter of Turold (?) and unknown daughter Malet, circa 1097.2 He died on 17 January 1128/29 at Chester, Cheshire, EnglandG.2,5 He was also reported to have died on 27 January 1128/29.5
     He was also known as Ranulph de Briquessart.4 He gained the title of Vicomte de Bayeux [Normandy].4 He succeeded as the Vicomte d'Avranches [Normandy] on 25 November 1120.4 He was created 1st Earl of Chester [England] in 1121.4 He was Commander of the Royal forces in Normandy in 1124.4

Thomas Howard, 3rd Earl of Berkshire1

     Thomas Howard, 3rd Earl of Berkshire was baptised on 14 November 1619 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Covent Garden, London, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Thomas Howard, 1st Earl of Berkshire and Lady Elizabeth Cecil.1 He married, firstly, Frances Harrison, daughter of Sir Richard Harrison and Frances Garrard.1 He married, secondly, Mary Parker, daughter of Sir Thomas Parker and Philadelphia Lennard.1 He died on 12 April 1706 at age 86.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 21 June 1706.1 He was buried at Charleton, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wallingford between 1641 and 1644.1 He was Colonel of the Regiment of Horse in September 1643.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Andover, co. Southampton [E., 1622] in April 1679.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Berkshire [E., 1626] in April 1679.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Howard of Charleton, Wiltshire [E., 1622] in April 1679.1 His last will was dated 24 September 1705.

Avice le Meschin, Lady of Harewood1

     Avice le Meschin, Lady of Harewood is the daughter of William le Meschin, Lord of Copeland and Cecilia de Rumilly, Lady of Skipton.1 She married, firstly, William de Courcy III.1 She married, secondly, William Paynell.1 She married, thirdly, Walter de Percy, son of Alan de Percy and Emma de Gant, before 1153.1,2
     Her married name became Paynell.1 She gained the title of Lady of Harewood.1

     Martha Maria Howard was born in 1705.1 She was the daughter of Captain James Howard and Katherine Booth.1 She married Rev. Hon. Charles Hervey, son of John Hervey, 1st Earl of Bristol and Elizabeth Felton, on 31 December 1743.1 She died in 1797, without issue.1
     From 31 December 1743, her married name became Hervey.

     Captain James Howard was born on 1 March 1679.1 He was the son of Colonel Hon. Philip Howard and Mary Jennings.1,2 He married Katherine Booth, daughter of George Booth and Martha Hawtrey, in 1698.2 He died on 13 June 1722 at age 43.1
     He gained the rank of Army Captain.1 He lived at Boughton, Cheshire, EnglandG.1
