     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 5th Battalion, Wiltshire Regiment.1

Hon. Rupert Edward Selborne Barrington and Mary Georgiana Ferguson, on 8 June 1929.1 She and Eric Rupert Walter Barrington were divorced in 1938.1 She died on 6 April 1982 at age 78.1
     Her married name became Barrington. She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1963.1

Brig.-Gen. Hon. John Vaughan Campbell, V.C.1

     Brig.-Gen. Hon. John Vaughan Campbell, V.C. was born on 31 October 1876 at London, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of Captain Hon. Ronald George Elidor Campbell and Katharine Susanna Claughton.3 He married, firstly, Amy Dorothy Penn, daughter of John Penn, on 18 July 1904.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Emily Robina Smith, daughter of Alfred Tennyson Smith, on 6 February 1937.1 He died on 22 May 1944 at age 67 at Woodchester, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1,4
     He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1900.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was Brigade Commander and Brigadier-General of the Coldstream Guards between 1916 and 1923.1 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.) on 26 October 1916, for his actions on 15 September 1916. "During an attack at Ginchy, Somme, the first two waves of his battalion had been decimated by machine-gun and rifle fire so he took personal command of the third line, rallied his men and lead them against machine guns, capturing them and killing the gun teams. Later in the day he led the survivors of the battalion through a heavy barrage. His gallantry and initiative turned the fortunes of the day and enabled tactically vital objective is to be taken."1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre with Palm and Star.1 He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George V between 1919 and 1933.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Coldstream Guards.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Brigadier-General in 1933.1
