     He gained the rank of officer in the Cambridgshire Regiment.1 Between 1914 and 1918 interned during the First World War.1

     Margaret Bruce Chaloner was born on 23 December 1806.1 She was the daughter of Robert Chaloner and Hon. Frances Laura Dundas.1 She married Rt. Hon. William Wentworth Fitzwilliam Dick, son of William Hoare Hume and Charlotte Anna Dick, on 8 June 1829.1 She died on 13 June 1837 at age 30.1
     From 8 June 1829, her married name became Hume.1

     Robert Chaloner was born on 23 September 1776.1 He was the son of William Chaloner and Emma Harvey.1 He married Hon. Frances Laura Dundas, daughter of Thomas Dundas, 1st Baron Dundas of Aske and Lady Charlotte FitzWilliam, on 24 January 1805.1 He died on 7 October 1842 at age 66.1
