Jane Wood was the daughter of Charles Boynton Wood.2 She married Vice-Admiral Mark John Currie, son of Mark Currie and Elizabeth Close, on 14 January 1829.1 She died on 17 May 1876.1

Sir Frederick Currie, 1st Bt. was born on 3 February 1799.1 He was the son of Mark Currie and Elizabeth Close.2 He married, firstly, Susannah Larkins, daughter of John Pascal Larkins, on 7 August 1820.1 He married, secondly, Lucy Elizabeth Bird, daughter of Robert M. Bird, on 3 September 1834.2 He married, thirdly, Katherine Maria Thompson, daughter of George Powney Thompson, on 10 February 1841.2 He died on 11 September 1875 at age 76.2
He was Secretary to the Government of India in 1842.1 He held the office of Member of the Supreme Council of India in 1846.1 He was created 1st Baronet Currie [U.K.] on 11 January 1847.1
