Henry Edward Ripley was born on 6 January 1884.1 He was the son of Henry Ripley and Emma Alice Seton.2 He married, firstly, Violet Miller, daughter of G. Turner Miller, on 16 July 1912.1 He and Violet Miller were divorced in 1937.1 He married, secondly, Doreen Walters, daughter of Daniel Walters, on 19 July 1944.2 He died on 29 December 1949 at age 65.1
