John William Rivallon de Poher de la Poer, 2nd Count de la Poer was born on 10 March 1882.1 He was the son of Edmond James de Poher de la Poer, 1st Count de la Poer and Hon. Mary Olivia Augusta Monsell.2 He married Muriel Henrietta Louisa Best, daughter of Hon. Robert Rainy Best and Meynella Katherine Hilda Wood, on 2 July 1907.1 He died on 27 March 1939 at age 57.1
He was educated at The Oratory School, South Kensington, London, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of officer in the 4th Battalion, Leinster Regiment.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Waterford.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Waterford in 1913.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Count de la Poer [Papal States, 1864] on 30 August 1915.1 He succeeded as the 19th Baron le Power and Coroghmore, co. Waterford [I., 1535] on 30 August 1915, de jure.1 In March 1922 he claimed Barony of Le Power and Coroghmore and Committee of Privileges of House of Lords decided that but for the attainder of John Power in 1691, the claim had been established.1 He lived at Gurteen le Poer, County Waterford, IrelandG.1
