     Colonel Thomas Johnes was born on 20 August 1748 at Ludlow, Shropshire, England.2 He was the son of Thomas Johnes.2 He married, firstly, Maria Burgh, daughter of Reverend Henry Burgh, in 1779.1 He married, secondly, Jane Johnes in 1782.2 He died on 23 April 1816 at age 67.1
     He was educated at Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.2 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cardigan Boroughs between 1775 and 1780.1 He gained the rank of Colonel between 1779 and 1798 in the Carmarthenshire Militia.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Radnorshire between 1780 and 1796.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cardiganshire between 1796 and 1816.2 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Cardiganshire between 1800 and 1816.2 He lived at Hafodychtryd, Cardiganshire, WalesG.1

     Major John Ernest Tollemache was born on 19 November 1898.2 He was the son of Hugh Ernest Tollemache and Caroline Mary Payne.1 He married Violet Edith Gertrude Sands, daughter of William Rae Sands and Edith Constance Mary Wells, on 19 September 1921 at Kensington, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 7 April 1969 at age 70.1
     He fought in the First World War between 1917 and 1918.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Gordon Highlanders.2
