Sir John Bury Gordon, 5th Bt.1

     Sir John Bury Gordon, 5th Bt. was born on 5 April 1779 at India.2 He is the son of Sir John James Gordon, 4th Bt. and Hannah Corner.2 He married, secondly, Margaret Erskine Campbell, daughter of Richard Campbell, in September 1815.2 He married Pyne Crosbie, daughter of Very Rev. Hon. Maurice Crosbie and Pyne Cavendish, on 9 January 1798.2 He died on 23 July 1835 at age 56 at Madras, India, without issue.2
     On his death, his baronetcy became dormant.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Gordon, of Park, co. Banff [N.S., 1686] on 11 December 1780.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 13th Light Dragoons.2 His marriage to Pyne Crosbie was annulled in 1806.3 In 1826 he raised a regiment, 30th Lancers, for the Nizam of Hyderabad.2 He gained the rank of Major in 1828 in the 15th Hussars.2

     She was given the name of Maria Assunta Christine Eleonore Caroline Elizabeth at birth.1 From 19 September 1977, her married name became Pappenheim.1

     He was a practising Barrister-at-law.2 He lived at Kyle, County Wexford, Ireland.2

     Thomas Mahon was born in 1701.2 He was the son of John Mahon and Eleanor Butler.3 He married Hon. Jane Crosbie, daughter of Maurice Crosbie, 1st Baron Branden and Lady Elizabeth Anne FitzMaurice, on 1 February 1735.1 He died on 13 January 1782.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for the borough of Roscommon [Ireland] between 1739 and 1763.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Roscommon [Ireland] between 1763 and 1782, ('Father of the House.3') He lived at Strokestown, County Roscommon, IrelandG.1
