Sir Robert Shafto Adair, 1st Bt.

     Sir Robert Shafto Adair, 1st Bt. was born on 26 June 1786.1 He was the son of William Adair and Camilla Shafto.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Maria Strode, daughter of Reverend James Strode, on 17 September 1810.1 He married, secondly, Jane Anne Clarkson, daughter of Reverend Townley Clarkson, on 3 October 1854.1 He died on 24 February 1869 at age 82.1
     He was created 1st Baronet Adair [U.K.] on 2 August 1838.1

     Elizabeth Maria Strode was the daughter of Reverend James Strode.1 She married Sir Robert Shafto Adair, 1st Bt., son of William Adair and Camilla Shafto, on 17 September 1810.1 She died on 1 September 1853.1
     Her married name became Adair.

     Jane Anne Clarkson was the daughter of Reverend Townley Clarkson.1 She married Sir Robert Shafto Adair, 1st Bt., son of William Adair and Camilla Shafto, on 3 October 1854.1 She died on 18 March 1873, without issue.1
     Her married name became Adair.

     Sir Hugh Edward Adair, 3rd Bt. was born on 26 December 1815.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Shafto Adair, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Maria Strode.1 He married Harriet Camilla Adair, daughter of Alexander Adair and Harriet Eliza Atkinson, on 10 July 1856.1 He died on 2 March 1902 at age 86.1
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was a practising Barrister-at-Law.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ipswich between 1847 and 1874.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Adair [U.K., 1838] on 5 February 1886.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Antrim.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Suffolk.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Antrim.1

     Harriet Camilla Adair was the daughter of Alexander Adair and Harriet Eliza Atkinson.1,2 She married Sir Hugh Edward Adair, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Robert Shafto Adair, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Maria Strode, on 10 July 1856.1 She died on 30 May 1909.1

     Alexander Adair was born on 15 September 1791.2 He was the son of William Adair and Camilla Shafto.2 He married Harriet Eliza Atkinson, daughter of George Atkinson, on 17 June 1828.2 He died on 22 November 1863 at age 72.2
     He lived at Colhays, Devon, England.2 He lived at Heatherton Park, Somerset, EnglandG.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Somerset in 1837.2
