Henry Carey, 1st Earl of Dover1

     Henry Carey, 1st Earl of Dover was born circa 1580.1 He was the son of John Carey, 3rd Baron Hunsdon of Hunsdon and Mary Hyde.1 He married, firstly, Judith Pelham, daughter of Sir Thomas Pelham, 1st Bt. and Mary Walsingham, before 1608.2 He married, secondly, Mary Morris, daughter of Richard Morris and Maud Daborne, on 6 July 1630 at St. Peter le Poor, London, EnglandG.2 He died in April 1666.1 He was buried on 13 April 1666 at Hunsdon, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hertfordshire in 1601.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hertfordshire between 1604 and 1611.2 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) on 3 June 1610.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hertfordshire in 1614.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Hunsdon of Hunsdon, co. Hertford [E., 1559] on 17 April 1617.2 He was created 1st Viscount Rochford [England] on 6 July 1621.2 He was created 1st Earl of Dover, co. Kent [England] on 8 March 1627/28.2 He held the office of Speaker of the House of Lords on 14 March 1641.2 He was Colonel of the regiment of Oxford Scholars between 1644 and 1646.2

John Carey, 2nd Earl of Dover1

     John Carey, 2nd Earl of Dover was born circa 1608.1 He was the son of Henry Carey, 1st Earl of Dover and Judith Pelham.1,2 He married, firstly, Lady Dorothy St. John, daughter of Oliver St. John, 1st Earl of Bolingbroke and Elizabeth Paulet, on 9 May 1628.3 He married, secondly, Abigail Cokayne, daughter of Sir William Cokayne and Mary Morris, on 2 December 1630 at St. Peter le Poor, London, EnglandG.3 He died on 26 May 1677, without male issue.1 He was buried on 1 June 1677 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.3 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 9 June 1681, to a creditor.3
     He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) on 1 February 1626.3 He was styled as Viscount Rochford between 1628 and 1666.3 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Hunsdon of Hunsdon, co. Hertford [E., 1559] on 3 November 1640.3 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1642 in the a regiment of Foot.3 In 1644 he was accused of high treason for adhering to the Royalist cause.3 He held the office of Speaker of the House of Lords between 1 August 1647 and 5 August 1647.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Dover, co. Kent [E., 1628] in April 1666.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Rochford [E., 1621] in April 1666.
     On his death, the Earldom of Dover and Viscountcy of Rochford became extinct.3

Sir Edmund Carey1

     Sir Edmund Carey was born in 1558 at Hunsdon, Herefordshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Henry Carey, 1st Baron Hunsdon of Hunsdon and Ann Morgan.1 He married, firstly, Mary Cocker, daughter of Christopher Cocker and Anne le Strange.2 He married, thirdly, Judith Humphrey, daughter of Dr. Lawrence Humphrey, after June 1630.3 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Neville, daughter of John Neville, 4th Lord Latymer and Lady Lucy Somerset, after 1594.4 He died on 12 September 1637 at Culham, Oxfordshire, England.1,2
     He was appointed Knight in 1587 by the Earl of Leicester.2 He lived at Moulton Park, England.4

     Beatrix of Sicily was born circa 1326. She was the daughter of Pedro II, King of Sicily. She married Rupprecht II Kurfürst von der Pfalz, son of Adolf Pfalzgraf von der Pfalz, circa 1345. She died on 12 October 1365.

     Rupprecht II Kurfürst von der Pfalz was born on 12 May 1325. He was the son of Adolf Pfalzgraf von der Pfalz.1 He married Beatrix of Sicily, daughter of Pedro II, King of Sicily, circa 1345. He died on 6 January 1398 at age 72.
     He was a member of the House of Wittelsbach.1 He succeeded as the Kurfürst von der Pfalz in 1390.1

She married Rupprecht III von der Pfalz, Holy Roman Emperor, son of Rupprecht II Kurfürst von der Pfalz and Beatrix of Sicily, on 27 June 1374.1 She died on 26 June 1411.

He was the son of Jean I, Duc de Lorraine and Sophie von Württemberg.1 He married Margarete prinzessin von der Pfalz, daughter of Rupprecht III von der Pfalz, Holy Roman Emperor and Elisabeth von Hohenzollern, on 6 February 1393. He died on 25 January 1431.
     He succeeded as the Duc de Lorraine in 1390.1
