     Mary Sproat was the daughter of Alexander Sproat.1 She married Alexander Monypenny Lindsay, son of David Ayton-Lindsay of Wormiston and Jane Emilia Ayton, on 13 November 1872.1 She died in 1902.1
     Her married name became Lindsay.

Major Henry Bethune Lindsay1

     Major Henry Bethune Lindsay was born on 11 October 1811.1 He was the son of Patrick Lindsay.1 He married Elizabeth Campbell, daughter of Colin Campbell and Mary Anne Howell, on 9 March 1837.1 He died on 22 June 1856 at age 44.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the 3rd Bengal Cavalry.1

     Colin Campbell was born on 31 December 1781 at Old Machar, Aberdeen, Lanarkshire, Scotland.2 He married Mary Anne Howell on 23 December 1813 at Kisnapore, Bengal, India.2 He died on 1 November 1858 at age 76 at Brighton, Sussex, England.2
     He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1

     David Lindsay was the son of Patrick Lindsay, 4th Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Isabella Pitcairn.1 He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, EnglandG, killed in action.1
     He lived at Kirkforthar, ScotlandG.1 He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.1

     Lady Christian Lindsay was the daughter of John Lindsay, 17th Earl of Crawford and Lady Margaret Hamilton.1,3 She married John Hamilton, 4th Earl of Haddington, son of Thomas Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Haddington and Lady Catherine Erskine, on 13 April 1648.1 She died on 26 October 1704.1
     After her marriage, Lady Christian Lindsay was styled as Countess of Haddington on 13 April 1648. From 13 April 1648, her married name became Hamilton.

John Hamilton, 4th Earl of Haddington1

     John Hamilton, 4th Earl of Haddington was born in 1626.2 He was the son of Thomas Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Haddington and Lady Catherine Erskine.2 He married Lady Christian Lindsay, daughter of John Lindsay, 17th Earl of Crawford and Lady Margaret Hamilton, on 13 April 1648.2 He died on 31 August 1669.2
     He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Haddington [S., 1627] on 8 February 1645.2 He succeeded as the 4th Lord Binning [S., 1613] on 8 February 1645.2 He succeeded as the 4th Lord Byres and Binning [S., 1627] on 8 February 1645.2 He sold territorial Barony of Barnbougle, Dalmeny, co. Linlithgow for 160,000 marks in 1662 to Sir Archibald Primrose, Lord Carrington.3

     From 1663, her married name became Sinclair.2
