     Beatrice Dorothy Low usually went by her middle name of Dorothy.2 After her marriage, Beatrice Dorothy Low was styled as Baroness Addison on 4 November 1937. From 4 November 1937, her married name became Addison.1 After her marriage, Beatrice Dorothy Low was styled as Viscountess Addison on 2 July 1945.

     Thomas Lyon-Bowes, 11th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne was born on 3 May 1773.1 He was the son of John Bowes, 9th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and Mary Eleanor Bowes.1,2 He married, firstly, Mary Elizabeth Louisa Rodney Carpenter, daughter of George Carpenter and Mary Elizabeth Walsh, on 25 March 1800.1 He married, secondly, Eliza Northcote, daughter of Colonel unknown Northcote, in 1812.1 He married, thirdly, Marianna Cheape, daughter of John Cheape of Sauchie, on 8 December 1817.1 He died on 27 August 1846 at age 73.1 He was buried on 1 September 1846.
     He was given the name of Thomas Bowes at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Leicestershire in 1810.1 He succeeded as the 11th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne [S., 1677] on 3 July 1820.1 He succeeded as the 11th Lord Lyon and Glamis [S., 1606] on 3 July 1820.1 He succeeded as the 18th Lord Glamis [S., 1445] on 3 July 1820.1

She married Thomas George Lyon-Bowes, Lord Glamis, son of Thomas Lyon-Bowes, 11th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and Mary Elizabeth Louisa Rodney Carpenter, on 21 December 1820 at St. James's, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 19 January 1881.1
     Her married name became Lyon-Bowes.

     John Bowes, 9th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne was born on 17 July 1737 at West Rainton, County Durham, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Thomas Lyon, 8th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and Jean Nicholson.1 He was baptised on 16 August 1737. He married Mary Eleanor Bowes, daughter of George Bowes and Mary Gilbert, on 24 February 1767.1 He died on 7 March 1776 at age 38, at sea, enroute to Lisbon.1
     He was given the name of John Lyon at birth.1 He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne [S., 1677] on 18 January 1753.1 He succeeded as the 16th Lord Glamis [S., 1445] on 18 January 1753.1 He succeeded as the 9th Lord Lyon and Glamis [S., 1606] on 18 January 1753.1 He was educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 In 1767 his name was legally changed to John Bowes by Act of Parliament.1 He was appointed Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1767 and 1776.1

     Mary Eleanor Bowes was born on 24 February 1749. She was the daughter of George Bowes and Mary Gilbert.1 She married, firstly, John Bowes, 9th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, son of Thomas Lyon, 8th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and Jean Nicholson, on 24 February 1767.2 She married, secondly, Andrew Robinson Stoney-Bowes, son of George Stoney and Eliza Johnston, on 17 January 1777 at St. James's, Westminster, London, EnglandG.3 She and Andrew Robinson Stoney-Bowes were divorced on 3 March 1789 by Act of Parliament.3 She died on 28 April 1800 at age 51.4 She was buried on 10 May 1800 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.
     After her marriage, Mary Eleanor Bowes was styled as Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne on 24 February 1767. She has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.5
