     Mary Dalzell is the daughter of Sir John Dalzell and Agnes Nisbet.1 A contract for the marriage of Mary Dalzell and Alexander Erskine, 3rd Earl of Kellie was signed on 8 July 1665.1
     After her marriage, Mary Dalzell was styled as Countess of Kellie on 8 July 1665. From 8 July 1665, her married name became Erskine.1

     Alexander Erskine, 3rd Earl of Kellie was born after 1615. He was the son of Alexander Erskine, Viscount Fentoun and Lady Anne Seton.1 He married, firstly, Anna Kirkpatrick, daughter of Colonel John Kirkpatrick, in 1661.1 A contract for the marriage of Alexander Erskine, 3rd Earl of Kellie and Mary Dalzell was signed on 8 July 1665.2 He died in May 1677.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount of Fentoun [S., 1606] on 11 February 1633.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Erskine of Dirletowne [S., 1604] on 11 February 1633.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Kellie [S., 1619] on 11 February 1633.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount of Fentoun [S., 1619] on 11 February 1633.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Dirletoun [S., 1619] on 11 February 1633.1 He fought in the Battle of Worcester in 1651, where he was captured by Cromwell's forces.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1661.1
