Robert Dalzell1

     Robert Dalzell was born in 1755.2 He was the son of Alexander Dalzell and Elizabeth Jackson.1 He married Anne Armstrong, daughter of David Armstrong, on 18 March 1783.2 He died on 13 February 1808 at Glenae House, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.2
     He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1776.2 In 1787 he would have been the 7th Earl of Carnwath, but for his grandfather's attainder.2

Robert Johnstone-Douglas of Lockerbie1

     Robert Johnstone-Douglas of Lockerbie was born on 6 April 1814.1 He was the son of Henry Alexander Douglas and Elizabeth Dalzell.1 He married Lady Jane Margaret Mary Douglas, daughter of Charles Douglas, 6th Marquess of Queensberry and Lady Caroline Scott, on 27 January 1841.1 He died on 12 October 1866 at age 52.1
     He was given the name of Robert Douglas at birth.1

Lord William Robert Keith Douglas1

     Lord William Robert Keith Douglas was born in 1783.1 He was the son of Sir William Douglas, 4th Bt. and Grace Johnstone.2 He married Elizabeth Irvine, daughter of Walter Irvine, on 24 November 1824.1 He died on 5 December 1859.1
     On 16 May 1837 he was granted the rank of a marquess's younger son.1 He lived at Grangemuir, Fife, ScotlandG.1

Elizabeth Irvine1

     Elizabeth Irvine was the daughter of Walter Irvine.1 She married Lord William Robert Keith Douglas, son of Sir William Douglas, 4th Bt. and Grace Johnstone, on 24 November 1824.1 She died on 25 April 1864.1
     Her married name became Douglas.

Lady Mary Douglas1

     Lady Mary Douglas was the daughter of Sir William Douglas, 4th Bt. and Grace Johnstone.2 She married Maj.-Gen. Sir Thomas Sydney Beckwith, son of Maj.-Gen. John Beckwith and Janet Wishart, on 20 March 1817.2 She died on 15 January 1841.2
     Her married name became Beckwith. On 16 May 1837 she was granted the rank of a marquess's daughter.1

Maj.-Gen. Sir Thomas Sydney Beckwith1

     Maj.-Gen. Sir Thomas Sydney Beckwith was born in 1772.2 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. John Beckwith and Janet Wishart.2,3 He married Clementina Laughman.2 He married Lady Mary Douglas, daughter of Sir William Douglas, 4th Bt. and Grace Johnstone, on 20 March 1817.1 He died on 15 January 1831 at India.1,2
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1 He fought in the Peninsular Wars.2 He fought in the War of 1812.2 He was Quartermaster-General of British North America between 1813 and 1815.2 He was Commander-in-Chief of Bombay between 1829 and 1831.2

     William Irving of Bonshaw was the son of John Irving of Bonshaw and Sophia Clapperet.1 He married Janet Douglas, daughter of Sir John Douglas, 3rd Bt. and Christian Cuninghame, on 13 November 1767 at Prestonfield, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He died in 1772.1
     He lived at Bonshaw, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.
