     Caroline Susan Stewart-Mackenzie was born on 9 July 1822.2 She was the daughter of Rt. Hon. James Alexander Stewart-Mackenzie and Hon. Mary Frederica Elizabeth Mackenzie.1 She married John Berney Petre, son of Jack Petre and Hon. Catherine Harbord, on 21 December 1844 at Richmond, Surrey, EnglandG.1,2 She died in 1867.1 She was also reported to have died on 6 April 1855.2
     From 21 December 1844, her married name became Petre.1

     John Berney Petre was born on 5 November 1806 at Suffield, Norfolk, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Jack Petre and Hon. Catherine Harbord.2 He married, firstly, Susanna Childs, daughter of Harriet Childs, at Gretna Green, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.2 He married, secondly, Caroline Susan Stewart-Mackenzie, daughter of Rt. Hon. James Alexander Stewart-Mackenzie and Hon. Mary Frederica Elizabeth Mackenzie, on 21 December 1844 at Richmond, Surrey, EnglandG.1,2 He died on 9 January 1882 at age 75 at Norfolk, EnglandG.1
     His marriage to Susanna Childs was annulled before 1844.2 He lived in 1881 at Westwick, Norfolk, EnglandG.1

Lt.-Col. John Stewart1

     Lt.-Col. John Stewart was born on 21 May 1869.1 He was the son of John Leveson Douglas Stewart and Margaret Anne Thomson.1 He married Valentia Worship, daughter of William Worship, in 1891.1 He died on 19 February 1931 at age 61.1
     He fought in the Boer War.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Black Watch.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.1
