     James Arthur Wellington Foley Butler, 4th Marquess of Ormonde was born on 23 September 1849.¹ He was the son of John Butler, 2nd Marquess of Ormonde and Frances Jane Paget.¹ He married Ellen Stager, daughter of General Anson Stager, on 8 March 1887.² He died on 4 July 1943 at age 93.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Life Guards.¹ He was State Steward to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baron Butler of Llanthony, co. Monmouth [U.K., 1821] on 26 October 1919.¹ He succeeded as the 22nd Earl of Ormonde [I., 1328] on 26 October 1919.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Marquess of Ormonde [U.K., 1825] on 26 October 1919.¹ He succeeded as the 16th Earl of Ossory [I., 1528] on 26 October 1919.¹ He succeeded as the 14th Viscount Thurles [I., 1536] on 26 October 1919.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Kilkenny.¹

     James Arthur Norman Butler, 6th Marquess of Ormonde was born on 25 April 1893.¹ He was the son of James Arthur Wellington Foley Butler, 4th Marquess of Ormonde and Ellen Stager.^1,2 He married Jessie Carlos Clarke, daughter of Charles Carlos Clarke, on 26 January 1924.¹ He died on 17 April 1971 at age 77.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 17th/21st Lancers.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1918.¹ He was admitted to Gentlemen-at-Arms in 1936.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Marquess of Ormonde [U.K., 1825] on 21 June 1949.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baron Butler of Llanthony, co. Monmouth [U.K., 1821] on 21 June 1949.¹ He succeeded as the 24th Earl of Ormonde [I., 1328] on 21 June 1949.¹ He succeeded as the 16th Viscount Thurles [I., 1536] on 21 June 1949.¹ He succeeded as the 18th Earl of Ossory [I., 1528] on 21 June 1949.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of kent between 1952 and 1955.¹ He held the office of High Steward of Wokingham between 1956 and 1971.¹ He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1960.¹ He sold Kilkenny Castle for £50 in 1967.¹

     Sir Robert Manners was the son of Sir Robert Manners and Joane Ogle.² He and Eleanor de Ros obtained a marriage license on 13 June 1469.¹ He died in 1495.²
     He lived at Etal, Northumberland, England^G.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Northumberland in 1463.² He held the office of Sheriff of Northumberland in 1465.² He held the office of Sheriff of Northumberland in 1485.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1485.² He was appointed Knight in 1485.² Belvior Castle came to him through his marriage.²

     Eleanor de Ros was the daughter of Thomas de Ros, 9th Lord de Ros of Helmsley and Philippa Tiptoft.¹ She and Sir Robert Manners obtained a marriage license on 13 June 1469.¹ She died in 1488.²
     From 13 June 1469, her married name became Manners.¹

     Blanche de Brienne, Dame de La Loupelande was the daughter of Jean de Brienne and Jeanne, Dame du Château du Loir.¹ She married Sir William de Fiennes, Seigneur de Fiennes, son of Enguerrand II de Fiennes, Lord of Wendover and Agnès Isabelle de Condé, in 1266.¹ She died in 1302.²
     She gained the title of Dame de La Loupelande.¹ She was also known as Blanche of Acre.

     Robert, Vicomte de Beaumont was the son of Jean, Vicomte de Beaumont and Jeanne de La Guerche, Dame de Pounance.¹ A contract for the marriage of Robert, Vicomte de Beaumont and Marie, Dame de Chastelais was signed on 25 August 1303.¹ He died on 20 September 1327.¹
     He gained the title of Vicomte de Beaumont.¹

     Elizabeth Lovell was the daughter of Sir Robert Lovell.¹ A settlement for the marriage between her and Thomas Manners, 1st Earl of Rutland was made on 21 February 1512/13.¹ She died after 26 October 1513, without issue.¹
     From 21 February 1512/13, her married name became Manners.

     William Cecil, 16th Lord de Ros of Helmsley was born in May 1590.² He was the son of William Cecil, 2nd Earl of Exeter and Elizabeth Manners, Baroness de Ros of Helmsley.¹ He married Anne Lake, daughter of Sir Thomas Lake and Mary Ryder, on 13 February 1615/16.² He and Anne Lake were divorced.³ He died on 27 June 1618 at age 28 at Italy.²
     He succeeded as the 16th Lord de Ros of Helmsley [E., 1299] on 19 May 1591.² On 22 July 1616 he was confirmed as Lord de Ros of Helmsley.²

     Allan Havelock-Allan was born on 30 March 1874.² He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Henry Marshman Havelock-Allan, 1st Bt., V.C. and Lady Alice Reynolds-Moreton.^3,2 He married, firstly, Anne Julia Chaytor, daughter of Sir William Chaytor, 3rd Bt. and Mary van Straubenzee, on 26 May 1897.² He and Anne Julia Chaytor were divorced on 24 March 1914.² He married, secondly, Aline Constance Caroline Beresford, daughter of Edward Beresford and Emily Constance Frederica Milner, on 25 March 1914.^2,4 He died on 7 November 1949 at age 75 at Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.^2,4
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st North Riding Yorkshire Artillery.² He lived at Drax, Tilshead, Wiltshire, England^G.²
