He married Sylvia Inez Pakenham Johnstone, daughter of Colonel Hope Johnstone and Lilian Ada Stocker.² He died on 8 February 1984 at age 83 at St. Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands^G.
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England^G. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Rifle Brigade. He lived at St. Leonard's Forest, Sussex, England^G.¹
