Air Vice-Marshal John Beresford Cole-Hamilton1

     Air Vice-Marshal John Beresford Cole-Hamilton was born on 1 December 1894.1 He was the son of John Isaac Cole-Hamilton and Elinor Bourne Royds. He married Hilda Violet Leslie Fox, daughter of Charles Leslie Fox, on 12 June 1928.1 He died on 22 August 1945 at age 50.1
     He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Air Vice Marshal in the Royal Air Force.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1941.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1943.1

     Hilda Violet Leslie Fox was the daughter of Charles Leslie Fox.1 She married Air Vice-Marshal John Beresford Cole-Hamilton, son of John Isaac Cole-Hamilton and Elinor Bourne Royds, on 12 June 1928.1 She died on 22 April 1945.1
     From 12 June 1928, her married name became Cole-Hamilton.

     She graduated from Girton College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1953 with a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.1 ) From 2 November 1957, her married name became Ford. She lived in 2003 at The Old Vicarage, Greywell, Basingstoke, Hampshire, EnglandG.1
