He was the son of Reverend William Woolsey and Mary Anne Bellingham.¹ He married Emily Holt, daughter of William Henry Holt and Mary Hamerton, on 11 August 1828 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G.^1,2 He died on 16 January 1874 at 49 Westbourne Terrace, Hyde Park Gardens, London, England^G, without issue.¹
     He was sometime the Accountant-General of the Admiralty.¹

     Emily Holt was baptised on 1 May 1805 at All Hallows, Tottenham, London, England^G.² She was the daughter of William Henry Holt and Mary Hamerton.^1,2 She married O'Bryen Bellingham Woolsey, son of Reverend William Woolsey and Mary Anne Bellingham, on 11 August 1828 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G.^1,2 She died on 9 November 1874 at age 69 at 49 Westbourne Terrace, Hyde Park Gardens, London, England^G, without issue.^1,2
     From 11 August 1828, her married name became Woolsey.¹
