     Dorothea Gwladys Ellen More Tombs was born in 1870 at Wales.¹ She was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Henry Tombs, V.C. and Georgina Janet Stirling.^2,1 She married Charles John Brinsley Butler, 7th Earl of Lanesborough, son of Captain John Vansittart Danvers Butler, 6th Earl of Lanesborough and Anne Elizabeth Clark, on 31 January 1891.² She died on 11 April 1920.²
     Her married name became Butler. After her marriage, Dorothea Gwladys Ellen More Tombs was styled as Countess of Lanesborough on 12 September 1905.

     Maj.-Gen. Sir Henry Tombs, V.C. was born on 10 November 1824 at Calcutta, India^G.¹ He was the son of John Tombs.² He married Georgina Janet Stirling, daughter of Admiral Sir James Stirling and Ellen Mangles, on 24 June 1869.³ He died on 2 August 1874 at age 49 at Newport, Isle of Wight, England^G.¹ He was buried before 1875 at Carisbrooke Cemetery, Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight, England^G.¹
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)⁴ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)³ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1843 in the Bengal Horse Artillery.² He gained the rank of Captain in 1854.² He fought in the Indian Mutiny in 1857.² He gained the rank of Major in the Bengal Horse Artillery.² He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.) on 27 April 1858.²

     Thomas Sydenham married Eleanor Arundell, daughter of Thomas Arundell and Catherine Dynham.¹

     Nicholas St. Loe married Eleanor Arundell, daughter of Thomas Arundell and Catherine Dynham.¹

     Lady Isabel Seton was born on 1 August 1594.¹ She was the daughter of Alexander Seton, 1st Earl of Dunfermline and Lilias Drummond.² She married John Maitland, 1st Earl of Lauderdale, son of John Maitland, 1st Lord Maitland of Thirlestane and Jean Fleming, before 18 June 1610.¹ She died on 2 November 1638 at age 44 at Lethington Castle, Scotland^G.¹
     Her married name became Maitland. After her marriage, Lady Isabel Seton was styled as Countess of Lauderdale on 14 March 1624.

     Lady Margaret Cuninghame was born circa 1662. She was the daughter of Alexander Cuninghame, 10th Earl of Glencairn and Nicola Stewart.^2,3 She married John Maitland, 5th Earl of Lauderdale, son of Charles Maitland, 3rd Earl of Lauderdale and Elizabeth Lauder, circa 1680.¹ She died on 12 May 1742.³
     Her married name became Maitland. After her marriage, Lady Margaret Cuninghame was styled as Countess of Lauderdale in 1695.

     Alexander Cuninghame, 10th Earl of Glencairn was the son of William Cuninghame, 9th Earl of Glencairn and Lady Anne Ogilvy.² He married Nicola Stewart, daughter of Sir James Stewart of Kirkhill, circa 1660.³ He died on 26 May 1670, without male issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 10th Lord Kilmaurs [S., 1464] on 30 May 1664.¹ He succeeded as the 10th Earl of Glencairn [S., 1488] on 30 May 1664.¹

     Caroline Sheila Ley was born on 10 May 1943.² She was the daughter of Sir Gerald Gordon Ley, 3rd Bt. and Rosemary Catherine Macpherson.^1,2 She married James Hugh William Lowther, 7th Earl of Lonsdale, son of Anthony Edward Lowther, Viscount Lowther and Muriel Frances Farrar, on 4 December 1975.¹ She died on 8 February 2019 at age 75.³
     After her marriage, Caroline Sheila Ley was styled as Countess of Lonsdale on 4 December 1975. She lived in 2003 at Askham Hall, Penrith, Cumbria, England^G.²

     Sophia Thornton was the daughter of Henry Thornton and Marianne Sykes.^1,2 She married John Thornton Leslie-Melville, 11th Earl of Leven, son of Alexander Leslie-Melville, 9th Earl of Leven and Jane Thornton, on 23 April 1834.¹ She died on 28 June 1887.¹
     Her married name became Leslie-Melville. After her marriage, Sophia Thornton was styled as Countess of Leven and Melville on 8 October 1860.

     Sir John Arundell was the son of Sir John Arundell and Lady Eleanor Grey.¹
     He lived at Lanherne, Cornwall, England^G.¹ From him descended the Arundells of Lanherne and of Chideoke, Dorset.¹
