     Colonel Sir Ronald Hugh Grierson was born on 6 August 1921 at Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany.2 He was the son of Ernest James Grierson and Gerda Rosenfelder.3,4 He married Elizabeth Heather Firmston-Williams, daughter of Geoffrey Firmston-Williams and Muriel Margaret Jones, on 31 October 1966 at Washington, D.C., U.S.A.G.5 He died on 23 October 2014 at age 93 at Paris, France.2
     He was given the name of Rolf Hans Griessmann at birth.6 On 18 December 1946 his name was legally changed to Ronald Hugh Grierson by Deed Poll.6 He lived in 1975 at 27 Grosvenor Crescent Mews, London, EnglandG.1 He was appointed Knight in 1990.2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) by University of Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England.2
