     Peter Douglas Miller Stirling-Aird of Kippendavie was born on 13 March 1915.² He was the son of Kenneth Aird.² He married, firstly, Penelope Ann Stirling, daughter of Lt.-Col. Patrick Douglas Stirling, in 1942.² He married, secondly, Lady Margaret Dorothea Boyle, daughter of Captain Patrick James Boyle, 8th Earl of Glasgow and Hyacyinthe Mary Bell, in 1973.² He died on 10 July 2004 at age 89.²
     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, England^G.² He gained the rank of Major in 1943 in the Royal Artillery.² He fought in the Second World War between 1944 and 1945, where he was mentioned in despatches.² He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.² He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)¹ He was managing director of R.A.
