Lt.-Gen. Sir John Arnott, 3rd Bt. married Mary (?)1 He died on 4 June 1750.1 He was buried on 6 June 1750 at Trinity, Micklegate, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 His will (dated 17 February 1749/50) was proven (by probate) on 20 June 1750.1
He was styled as 3rd Baronet Arnot, of Arnot, co. Fife [N.S., 1629] on 1 January 1711, although it is not clear what his relationship to the 2nd Baronet was, or the basis ofr his claim to the title.1 He held the office of Adjutant-General of Scotland in 1727.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in 1735.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1739.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General.1 He lived at Abbotshall, Kircaldy, Fife, ScotlandG.1
