     He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in the parish of Hartshead], co. York [E., 1641] in April 1736.¹
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.¹

     He was created 1st Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in Hartshead], co. York [Great Britain] on 4 July 1738.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1739.²

     George Armytage was born circa 1661.¹ He was the son of John Armytage and Elizabeth Dransfield.^1,2 He married Magdalen Usher, daughter of Francis Usher, in 1690.^1,2 He died in April 1709.¹
