     Sir Philip Anstruther-Paterson, 3rd Bt. was born on 13 January 1752 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 He was the son of Sir John Anstruther of that Ilk, 2nd Bt. and Janet Fall.1 He married Anne Paterson, daughter of Sir John Paterson, 3rd Bt. and Hon. Anne Hume-Campbell, on 19 February 1778 at Eccles, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.2 He died on 5 January 1808 at age 55, without issue.1
     He was given the name of Philip Anstruther of that Ilk at birth.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Anstruther-Easter Burghs between 1774 and 1777.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Dragoon Guards.2 In 1782 his name was legally changed to Philip Anstruther-Paterson.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)3 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Anstruther, of Anstruther and of Elie House, co. Fife [N.S., 1700] on 4 July 1799.1

     Anne Paterson was the daughter of Sir John Paterson, 3rd Bt. and Hon. Anne Hume-Campbell.1 She married Sir Philip Anstruther-Paterson, 3rd Bt., son of Sir John Anstruther of that Ilk, 2nd Bt. and Janet Fall, on 19 February 1778 at Eccles, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.1 She died on 11 March 1822, without issue.1
     From 19 February 1778, her married name became Anstruther.2 From 1782, her married name became Anstruther-Paterson.1 She succeeded as the 4th Lady Polwarth [S., 1690] on 10 January 1794, de jure.2 In 1818 claimed title of Lady Polwarth but died before it was confirmed.2 She was styled as Baroness Polwarth in 1818.1

     Sir John Paterson, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1730.2 He was the son of John Paterson, younger of Eccles and Margaret Seton. He married Hon. Anne Hume-Campbell, daughter of Hugh Hume-Campbell, 3rd Earl of Marchmont and Anne Western, on 23 October 1755.3 He died on 14 January 1782.3
     He gained the title of 3rd Baronet Paterson, of Eccles, co. Berwick.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Berwickshire from 1779 to 1780.2

     Hon. Anne Hume-Campbell was born circa 1734.1 She was the daughter of Hugh Hume-Campbell, 3rd Earl of Marchmont and Anne Western.2,3 She married Sir John Paterson, 3rd Bt., son of John Paterson, younger of Eccles and Margaret Seton, on 23 October 1755.1 She died on 27 July 1790, in the lifetime of the father.1
     From 23 October 1755, her married name became Paterson.1

     Sir John Anstruther of that Ilk, 4th and 1st Bt. was born on 27 March 1753 at Elie House, Elie, Fife, ScotlandG.1 He was the son of Sir John Anstruther of that Ilk, 2nd Bt. and Janet Fall.1 He married Maria Isabella Brice, daughter of Edward Brice, before 1784.1 He died on 26 January 1811 at age 57 at Albemarle Street, St. George Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1
     He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn on 12 February 1774.1 He was an Advocate on 30 July 1774.1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1779 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Anstruther-Easter Burghs between 1783 and 1790.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cockermouth between 1790 and 1796.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Anstruther-Easter Burghs between 1796 and 1796.1 He held the office of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Bengal between 1796 and 1806.1 He was appointed Knight on 4 October 1797.1 He was created 1st Baronet Anstruther, of Fort William, Bengal [Great Britain] on 18 May 1798.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Anstruther-Easter Burghs between 1806 and 1811.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 19 November 1806.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Anstruther, of Anstruther and of Elie House, co.      From before 1784, her married name became Anstruther.1

     Sir Windham Carmichael-Anstruther, 7th and 4th Bt. was born on 9 March 1793 at Lincoln's Inn Fields, London, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Sir John Anstruther of that Ilk, 4th and 1st Bt. and Maria Isabella Brice.1 He married, firstly, Meredith Maria Wetherell, daughter of Charles Wetherell, in 1824.2 He married, secondly, Anne Constance Grey, daughter of Allen Williamson Grey, on 10 May 1841.2 He married, thirdly, Mary Anne Parsons, daughter of John Parsons, on 30 September 1859.2 He died on 15 September 1869 at age 76 at Boulogne, FranceG.1
     He was educated in 1808 at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of officer in the Coldstream Guards.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1831 in the Lanark Militia.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Anstruther, of Anstruther and of Elie House, co. Fife [N.S., 1700] in November 1831, and from 1817 'of Carmichael and Westraw, co. Lanark.1' He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Anstruther, of Fort William, Bengal [G.B., 1798] in November 1831.1 After succeeding to the estates, he became "inextricably involved, and at length, after many years, succeeded in breaking the entail of his Anstruther estates, and sold them in 1856, together with the mansion of Elie House, to the brothers Baird [for £145,000]."1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lanarkshire.3

     Meredith Maria Wetherell was born circa 1804.1 She was the daughter of Charles Wetherell.1 She married Sir Windham Carmichael-Anstruther, 7th and 4th Bt., son of Sir John Anstruther of that Ilk, 4th and 1st Bt. and Maria Isabella Brice, in 1824.1 She died on 10 April 1841 at Brighton, Sussex, EnglandG.1
     From 1824, her married name became Carmichael-Anstruther.1
