     Henry Fitzalan-Howard, 15th Duke of Norfolk was born on 27 December 1847.1 He was the son of Henry Granville Fitzalan-Howard, 14th Duke of Norfolk and Hon. Augusta Mary Mina Catherine Lyons.1 He married, firstly, Lady Flora Paulyna Hetty Barbara Abney-Hastings, daughter of Charles Frederick Abney-Hastings, 1st Baron Donington and Edith Maud Rawdon-Hastings, 10th Countess of Loudoun, on 21 November 1877.3 He married, secondly, Gwendoline Mary Herries, Lady Herries of Terregles, daughter of Marmaduke Francis Constable-Maxwell, 11th Lord Herries of Terregles and Hon. Angela Mary Charlotte Fitzalan-Howard, on 15 February 1904.1 He died on 11 February 1917 at age 69.1
     He was educated at The Oratory School, Edgbaston, Warwickshire, England.1 He succeeded as the Baron Maltravers [E., 1627] on 25 November 1860.1 He succeeded as the 10th Earl Marshal, of England [E., 1672] on 25 November 1860.1 He succeeded as the 15th Duke of Norfolk [E., 1483] on 25 November 1860.1 He succeeded as the 15th Earl of Surrey [E., 1483] on 25 November 1860.1 He succeeded as the 13th Earl of Norfolk [E., 1644] on 25 November 1860.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1886.1 He held the office of Member of the West Sussex County Council.1 He held the office of Member of the London County Council between 1892 and 1896.1 He was appointed Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1895.1 He held the office of Mayor of Sheffield between 1895 and 1897.1 He held the office of Postmaster-General between 1895 and 1900.1 He fought in the Boer War in 1900.1 He held the office of Mayor of Westminster in 1900.1 He was awarded the Knight, Noble Order of Christ and of the Golden Spur 1st class.1 He was awarded the Royal Officers' Decoration (V.D.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for West Sussex.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1902.1 He held the office of Mayor of Arundel between 1902 and 1903.1 He was chairman of the Royal Commission on Army Reform in 1903.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Sussex between 1905 and 1917.1 He retired from the military in 1913, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the 4th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment.1

     Captain Robert Hamond Arthur Elwes was born on 14 November 1887.2 He was the son of Arthur Henry Stuart Elwes and Millicent Ella Honora Chapman.2 He married, firstly, Esterel Edith Philippa Louise Tillard, daughter of Admiral Philip Francis Tillard, on 10 June 1914.2 He married, secondly, Philippa Gurney, daughter of Walter Somerville Gurney and Violet Elizabeth Emily Troubridge, on 18 March 1926.2 He died on 5 December 1955 at age 68.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Army Service Corps.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Congham House, King's Lynn, Norfolk, EnglandG.3

     Gwendoline Mary Herries, Lady Herries of Terregles was born on 11 January 1877.1 She was the daughter of Marmaduke Francis Constable-Maxwell, 11th Lord Herries of Terregles and Hon. Angela Mary Charlotte Fitzalan-Howard.1 She married Henry Fitzalan-Howard, 15th Duke of Norfolk, son of Henry Granville Fitzalan-Howard, 14th Duke of Norfolk and Hon. Augusta Mary Mina Catherine Lyons, on 15 February 1904.3 She died on 28 August 1945 at age 68.1
     From 15 February 1904, her married name became Fitzalan-Howard. She succeeded as the 12th Lord Herries of Terregles [S., 1490] on 5 October 1908.1 She was awarded the Grand Cross, Order of the Holy Sepulchre.1

     Emily Gwendoline Williams was born in July 1839.2 She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Thomas Peers Williams and Emily Bacon.1 She married William Henry Wellesley, 2nd Earl Cowley, son of Henry Richard Charles Wellesley, 1st Earl Cowley and Hon. Olivia Cecilia FitzGerald-de Ros, on 8 August 1863 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 9 November 1932 at age 93.2
     Her married name became Wellesley. After her marriage, Emily Gwendoline Williams was styled as Countess Cowley on 15 July 1884. She has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3

     Lord George Beauclerk was born on 26 December 1704.1 He was the son of Charles Beauclerk, 1st Duke of Saint Albans and Lady Diana de Vere.2 He married Margaret Bainbridge, daughter of Thomas Bainbridge.1 He died on 11 May 1768 at age 63, without issue.1

     Lady Susan Gordon was born on 2 February 1774 at Gordon Castle, Bellie, Perthshire, ScotlandG.2 She was the daughter of Alexander Gordon, 4th Duke of Gordon and Jane Maxwell.1 She married William Montagu, 5th Duke of Manchester, son of George Montagu, 4th Duke of Manchester and Elizabeth Dashwood, on 7 October 1793 at Eaton, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.2 She died on 26 August 1828 at age 54.1,3
     After her marriage, Lady Susan Gordon was styled as Duchess of Manchester on 7 October 1793. From 7 October 1793, her married name became Montagu.
     Cokayne writes that "it is mentioned in the Memoirs of a Highland Lady, under date 1812, that 'the Duchess had left home years before with one of her footmen.' Lady Jerningham wrote, 6 September 1813: 'the Duchess of Manchester is finally parted from her husband, her conduct becoming most notoriously bad'.4 "
