     Lady Victoria Alexandria Montagu Douglas Scott was born on 20 November 1844 at Dalkeith CastleG.2,3 She was the daughter of Walter Francis Montagu Douglas Scott, 5th Duke of Buccleuch and Lady Charlotte Anne Thynne.1 She married, firstly, Schomberg Henry Kerr, 9th Marquess of Lothian, son of John William Robert Kerr, 7th Marquess of Lothian and Lady Cecil Chetwynd Chetwynd-Talbot, on 23 February 1865.1 She married, secondly, Bertram Chetwynd Talbot, son of Rt. Hon. John Gilbert Talbot and Hon. Meriel Sarah Lyttelton, on 21 February 1903.1 She died on 19 June 1938 at age 93.1
     From 23 February 1865, her married name became Kerr. After her marriage, Lady Victoria Alexandria Montagu Douglas Scott was styled as Marchioness of Lothian on 6 July 1870. She gained the title of Dowager Marchioness of Lothian. From 21 February 1903, her married name became Talbot.

Lord Ralph Drury Kerr was born on 11 August 1837.1 He was the son of John William Robert Kerr, 7th Marquess of Lothian and Lady Cecil Chetwynd Chetwynd-Talbot.1 He married Lady Anne Fitzalan-Howard, daughter of Henry Granville Fitzalan-Howard, 14th Duke of Norfolk and Hon. Augusta Mary Mina Catherine Lyons, on 24 July 1878.1 He died on 18 September 1916 at age 79.1
     He was GOC of the Curragh troops between 1891 and 1906.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 10th Hussars.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1
