Æthelreda of Scotland was the daughter of Gospatric, Earl of Northumberland and unknown wife (?)1,2 She married Duncan II, King of Scotland, son of Malcolm III 'Caennmor', King of Scotland and Ingibiorg Finnsdottir, between 1090 and 1094.3 She was buried at Dunfermline Abbey, Dunfermline, Fife, ScotlandG.3

Madach, 1st Earl of Atholl was born before 1115.1 He was the son of Maelmare mac Dhonnachadh.2 He married, firstly, unknown wife (?)3 He married, secondly, Margaret of Orkney, daughter of Haakon Paulson, Jarl of Orkney and Helga of Dale, circa 1133.1 He died between 1142 and 1152.1
At a time when the earlier Mormaers of Scotland (see BUCHAN.3 The territory under that of Atholl having comprised the northeast section of what later became Perthshire.3 He was created 1st Earl of Atholl [Scotland] circa 1115.1 In 1115 he witnessed the signing of the charter of Scone.1 He was also known as Madach Strathbogie.
