     Engelbert IX Herzog von Arenberg was born on 10 August 1872 at Salzburg, AustriaG. He was the son of Engelbert VIII Herzog von Arenberg. He married Princess Hedwige de Ligne, daughter of Prince Charles Joseph Eugene Henri Georges Lamoral de Ligne and Charlotte Josephine de Gontaut-Biron, on 14 October 1897 at Brussels, BelgiumG.1 He died on 15 January 1949 at age 76.
     He gained the title of Herzog von Recklinghausen.2 He gained the title of 9th Herzog von Arenberg.2 He was given the name of Engelbert Prosper Ernest Marie Joseph Jules Balthasar Benoit Antoine Eléonore Laurent at birth.2

     George John Douglas Campbell, 8th Duke of Argyll was born on 30 April 1823 at Ardencaple Castle, Dunbartonshire, ScotlandG.3 He was the son of John Douglas Edward Henry Campbell, 7th Duke of Argyll and Joan Glassel.3 He married, firstly, Lady Elizabeth Georgiana Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, daughter of George Granville Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, 2nd Duke of Sutherland and Lady Harriet Elizabeth Georgiana Howard, on 31 July 1844 at Trentham, Staffordshire, EnglandG.4 He married, secondly, Amelia Maria Claughton, daughter of Rt. Rev. Thomas Legh Claughton and Hon.      Lady Elizabeth Georgiana Sutherland-Leveson-Gower was born on 30 May 1824.3 She was the daughter of George Granville Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, 2nd Duke of Sutherland and Lady Harriet Elizabeth Georgiana Howard.3 She married George John Douglas Campbell, 8th Duke of Argyll, son of John Douglas Edward Henry Campbell, 7th Duke of Argyll and Joan Glassel, on 31 July 1844 at Trentham, Staffordshire, EnglandG.3 She died on 25 May 1878 at age 53 at Carlton House Terrace, London, EnglandG, suddenly.3 She was buried at Kilmun, CowalG.3
     From 31 July 1844, her married name became Campbell. After her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Georgiana Sutherland-Leveson-Gower was styled as Duchess of Argyll on 25 April 1847.      Charles Edward George Albert Leopold Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, 2nd Duke of Albany was born on 19 July 1884 at Claremont House, Esher, Surrey, EnglandG, posthumously.4 He was the son of Leopold George Duncan Albert Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, 1st Duke of Albany and Hélène Frederike Auguste Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont. He was baptised on 4 August 1884 at Claremont House, Esher, Surrey, EnglandG.4 He married Viktoria Adelheid Helene Luise Marie Friederike Prinzessin zu Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, daughter of Friedrich Ferdinand Georg Christian Karl Wilhelm Herzog zu Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg and Karoline Mathilde Prinzessin von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg, on 11 October 1905 at Glücksburg Castle, Holstein, GermanyG.4 He died on 6 March 1954 at age 69 at Coburg, Bayern, GermanyG.5
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Arklow [U.K., 1881] on 19 July 1884.6 He gained the title of HRH Prince Charles of Great Britain and Ireland on 19 July 1884.4 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Clarence [U.K., 1881] on 19 July 1884.6 He succeeded as the 2nd Duke of Albany [U.K., 1881] on 19 July 1884.6 He gained the title of Herzog von Sachsen.4 He succeeded as the Herzog von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha on 30 July 1900.4 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) on 27 January 1901.4 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) on 15 July 1902.4 In 1915 he was struck of the register of Knights of the Garter, as a result of his support for Kaiser Wilhelm II during World War One.5 He abdicated as Herzog von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha on 14 November 1918.5 On 28 March 1919 his English titles were removed by an Order in Council, after he fought on the German side during the First World War.5
