William Henry Alfred FitzRoy, Viscount Ipswich1

     William Henry Alfred FitzRoy, Viscount Ipswich was born on 24 July 1884.1 He was the son of Alfred William Maitland FitzRoy, 8th Duke of Grafton and Margaret Rose Smith.1 He married Auriol Margaretta Brougham, daughter of Major James Brougham and Elizabeth Montagu Shawe, on 27 September 1913.1 He died on 23 April 1918 at age 33, killed in a plane crash.1
     He was styled as Viscount Ipswich.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 4th Battalion, Coldstream Guards.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force.1

     Auriol Margaretta Brougham was the daughter of Major James Brougham and Elizabeth Montagu Shawe.2,3 She married, firstly, William Henry Alfred FitzRoy, Viscount Ipswich, son of Alfred William Maitland FitzRoy, 8th Duke of Grafton and Margaret Rose Smith, on 27 September 1913.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Gavin Robert Vernon Hume-Gore, son of Captain George Robert Hume-Gore, on 28 October 1929.2 She died on 7 February 1938.2
     From 27 September 1913, her married name became FitzRoy.1 From 28 October 1929, her married name became Hume-Gore.

     John Charles William FitzRoy, 9th Duke of Grafton was born on 1 August 1914.1 He was the son of William Henry Alfred FitzRoy, Viscount Ipswich and Auriol Margaretta Brougham.1 He died on 1 August 1936 at age 22, killed in a motor race.1
     He succeeded as the 10th Viscount Thetford, Norfolk [E., 1672] on 10 January 1930.1 He succeeded as the 10th Baron Arlington, of Arlington, Middlesex [E., 1672] on 10 January 1930.1 He succeeded as the 10th Baron Arlington, of Arlington, Middlesex [E., 1665] on 10 January 1930.1 He succeeded as the 10th Earl of Arlington [E., 1672] on 10 January 1930.1 He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Euston, co. Suffolk [E., 1672] on 10 January 1930.1 He succeeded as the 9th Duke of Grafton, co. Northampton [E., 1675] on 10 January 1930.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baron Sudbury of Sudbury, co. Suffolk [E., 1672] on 10 January 1930.1 He succeeded as the 9th Viscount Ipswich, co.      Reverend Lord Charles Edward FitzRoy was born on 9 December 1857.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Augustus Charles Lennox FitzRoy, 7th Duke of Grafton and Anna Balfour.1 He married Hon. Ismay Mary Helen Augusta FitzRoy, daughter of Charles FitzRoy, 3rd Baron Southampton and Hon. Ismania Catherine Nugent, on 12 June 1883.2 He died on 27 August 1911 at age 53.1
     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was the Rector at Euston-with-Barnham, Norfolk, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Chaplain in Ordinary to HM Queen Victoria between 1890 and 1901.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for West Suffolk.1 He held the office of Member of the West Suffolk County Council.1

     Hon. Ismay Mary Helen Augusta FitzRoy was born in 1863. She was the daughter of Charles FitzRoy, 3rd Baron Southampton and Hon. Ismania Catherine Nugent.1,2 She married Reverend Lord Charles Edward FitzRoy, son of Lt.-Col. Augustus Charles Lennox FitzRoy, 7th Duke of Grafton and Anna Balfour, on 12 June 1883.2 She died on 22 April 1952.1

Lt.-Col. George Ferdinand FitzRoy, 2nd Baron Southampton

     Lt.-Col. George Ferdinand FitzRoy, 2nd Baron Southampton was born on 7 August 1761.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Charles FitzRoy, 1st Baron Southampton and Anne Warren.2 He married, firstly, Laura Keppel, daughter of Rt. Rev. Hon. Frederick Keppel and Laura Walpole, on 2 July 1784.1 He married, secondly, Frances Isabella Seymour, daughter of Lord Robert Seymour and Anne Delmé, on 2 December 1802.2 He died on 24 June 1810 at age 48.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1778 in the 3rd Dragoons.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1780 in the 14th Foot.1 He held the office of Groom of the Bedchamber to HRH Prince of Wales in 1783.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Bury St. Edmunds between 1784 and 1787.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1787 in the 41st Foot.2 He gained the rank of Major in 1792 in the 51st Foot.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1793 in the 2nd Foot Guards.2 He gained the rank of Brevet Colonel in 1796.2 He gained the rank of Colonel between 1797 and 1810 in the 34th Foot.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Southampton, of Southampton, Hampshire [G.B., 1780] on 21 March 1797.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1801.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1808.2

     Lady Doreen Maria Josepha Sydney Buxton was born on 29 November 1897.1 She was the daughter of Sydney Charles Buxton, 1st and last Earl Buxton and Mildred Anne Smith.1 She married Charles Alfred Euston FitzRoy, 10th Duke of Grafton, son of Reverend Lord Charles Edward FitzRoy and Hon. Ismay Mary Helen Augusta FitzRoy, on 24 January 1918.2 She died on 28 July 1923 at age 25.2
     From 24 January 1918, her married name became FitzRoy.

     James Johnstone of Johnstone was born before 1486.1 He was the son of Sir Adam Johnstone of Johnstone.1 He married Mary Maxwell, daughter of John Maxwell, 3rd Lord Maxwell and Agnes Stewart.2 He died in August 1524.1
     In 1516 he had a charter of the lands of Whiteriggs and Meiklehouse.1
