Hon. Alice Susan Hamilton was born in 1866.2 She was the daughter of John Glencairn Carter Hamilton, 1st Baron Hamilton of Dalzell and Lady Emily Eleanor Leslie-Melville.1 She married Captain Hon. John Beresford Campbell, son of Hallyburton George Campbell, 3rd Baron Stratheden of Cupar and Campbell of St. Andrews and Louisa Mary Beresford-Hope, on 15 January 1895.1 She died on 25 January 1949.1
From 15 January 1895, her married name became Campbell.2 She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Roxburghshire.3 On 7 February 1921 she was granted the rank of a baron's widow.1
