     Lady Hester Margaret Cairns was born on 3 August 1895.1 She was born in 1895.2 She was the daughter of Wilfred Dallas Cairns, 4th Earl Cairns and Olive Cobbold.3 She married Rt. Hon. Robert Croft Bourne, son of Colonel Gilbert Charles Bourne and Constance Margaret Graham Croft, on 7 June 1917.1 She died in 1985.2
     From 7 June 1917, her married name became Bourne. She was Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Party Organisation and President of the National Society Cconsefvative and Unionist Women Organisers between 1939 and 1943.1

     From 7 June 1921, her married name became Abbey.
